City boss says he 'saw many things today that I like'
Pep Guardiola was full of praise for his team's performance in their Community Shield win over Manchester United on Sunday.
City came from behind to beat their rivals 3-1 at the King Power Stadium, with goals from Phil Foden (2) and Erling Haaland.
Guardiola said he was "very pleased" with his team's performance, particularly in the second half.
"In the first half, we were not good enough," he said. "We were too slow, we didn't play with enough intensity and we didn't create enough chances.
"But in the second half, we were much better. We played with more intensity, we created more chances and we scored three goals.
"I saw many things today that I like. I saw a team that is hungry, that is willing to fight and that is determined to win.
"This is a good start to the season. We have won our first trophy and we have shown that we are ready to compete for more."
